The National Football League and National Basketball Association have already worked hard to make inroads overseas and expand the brand of their game, and perhaps more importantly, sow the seeds of potential long term expansions plans.
However if the National Hockey League ever had any hope of expanding their league in Europe they may have already been beaten to the punch. According to a report from Russian hockey insider Aivis Kalnins the Kontinental Hockey League has struck a major coup striking a deal with Great Britain for their expansion to the United Kingdom.
They won't be moving in to any fringe town either, Kalnins also added that he has been hearing from his sources that the plan is currently to expand to the city of London. If the KHL has any level of success in London you would have to imagine that they will look to continued expansion in Europe.
