Breaking: Kris Versteeg has officially signed a PTO.

There were rumors earlier today but now it's official.

According to a report from TSN insider Darren Dreger the Edmonton Oilers and Versteeh have agreed to a professional tryout offer, one that both parties are hoping will earn him a roster spot on the team this season.

The big question here of course continues to be Versteeg's health, with unconfirmed rumors that a failed medical exam may have been the real reason behind his contract in Switzerland falling apart.

However should he be healthy, he brings a wealth of experience to a relatively young team, and perhaps most importantly of all brings a championship pedigree to an organization that hasn't done any kind of winning lately.
