The Tampa Bay Lightning not only lost the second game of the best-of-seven series against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday, they might also lose their best player for the crucial coming games in the playoffs.

Frustration got the better of the Bolts players as the Jackets took a quick three goals lead to win Game 2 5-1 in Tampa. Tempers flared many times during the contest and the Lightning collected a total of 38 penalty minutes, but one penalty stood out as the NHL's Player Safety department has decided to take a second look at the incident.

In the last minutes of the game, Nikita Kucherov was penalized for boarding against Marcus Nutivaara and got a game misconduct. The Jackets defenseman was down low near the boards, and Kucherov intentionally headed towards him to ram his head into the boards.

It didn't take long for many pundits to hint at the possibility of a hearing for Kucherov ahead of Game 3 in Columbus on Sunday.

It was confirmed as the NHL Player Safety have announced two hours after the end of the game that Kucherov will have a hearing on Saturday for his boarding call on Nutivaarna.

Kucherov wasn't the only player to get a game misconduct in the last minutes of his team's 5-1 loss. Blue Jackets' Josh Anderson was also ejected after getting a roughing penalty on defenseman Victor Hedman.

To be continued...
