Breaking: Landeskog facing suspension for nasty cross-check to the head
Does he deserve a suspension?

The Colorado Avalanche took on the Calgary Flames Saturday night, and it was marked by a particularly dirty play by the Avs' captain Gabriel Landeskog.
Landeskog cross-checked Matthew Tkachuk multiple times before finally getting him square in the face.
The team captain was only assessed a two-minute minor penalty on the play, but now the NHL Player Safety Department will take a look at the play more closely, and summon Landeskog for a hearing.
The Avalanche are 11-9-2, only a point out of a wild card spot in the Western Conference - this after being a tragically bad team in 2016-17.
Losing Landeskog to suspension would not bode well for them - he has 17 points in 22 games, on pace to match his best season in his career at 65 points in 2013-14.
