The Toronto Maple Leafs are in action on Saturday for the last game of the regular season, however, defenseman Jake Muzzin and forward Nazem Kadri will not have the chance to face the Montreal Canadiens before the start of the postseason.

Both players were absent during last night’s 3-1 loss at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning and it seems like more time is needed for them to recover from whatever they’re suffering. Muzzin was a late scratch on Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The blue liner is reportedly out with some kind of flu, however, fans have yet to be told what is wrong with Kadri. According to many insider, including Kristen Shilton of TSN, the injury is not believed to be serious however rest could help the veteran forward to be in top shape for the first round series against the Boston Bruins.

In Kadri’s absence, Trevor Moore and Frederik Gauthier are likely see more time.

Kadri suffered a concussion earlier this year so fans are hoping his undisclosed injury has nothing to do with recurring symptoms.

The veteran forward was however adamant about wanting to play in the last game of the regular season. He told TSN's Mark Masters that he was hoping to be in uniform tomorrow for the game against the Canadiens.
