The Boston Bruins have been without their star goaltender since Tuukka Rask suffered a concussion during Bruins practice last week and while that was a big blow to the team it now sounds like Rask is quickly recovering.

According to Bruins insider Joe Haggerty, the veteran Bruins netminder skated with other injured players on Monday and is set to rejoin his team for full practice as early as Tuesday. Head coach Bruce Cassidy also added that Rask could return as early as this week.

“He’s in the protocol and progressing well,” said Cassidy as per NBC Sports. “He’ll probably join us [on Tuesday] for the next step if there are no ill effects from today. That’s a positive. If there are no setbacks, I think Saturday is a more realistic [timetable for a return].”

Rask was off to a slow start this season through his first four games with the Bruins, and while backup goaltender Anton Khudobin had a bad performance against the Buffalo Sabres where he let in 5 goals, overall he has looked better than Rask did to start the season.

While there's little doubt that Rask will reclaim the number one spot when healthy, the hopes is that he will return to the form that has made him of the NHL's most consistent goaltenders.
