A disaster for one NHL franchise.

There are some major rumors out tonight and they suggest a National Hockey League franchise has filed for relocation.

First Arizona Centrals Craig Harris reported roughly an hour ago that it appeared by all accounts that the Coyotes arena deal was of life support after they failed to get the number of votes necessary to get the bill that would sponsor their arena funding passed through the senate.

Without the bill their $395 million arena deal is all but dead and now rumors have already begun to circulate about the fate of the Coyotes, some going so far as to suggest that the team has already filed for relocation.

Harris has since been in contact with Coyotes spokesperson Rich Nairn who has categorically denied those accusations saying there is "absolutely" no truth to those rumors. It has to be said however that this is the same organization that claimed earlier this year they weren't visiting arenas in the West as possible relocation venues, while officials from those arenas confirmed Coyotes personnel was in fact on hand.

I suppose this should come as little surprise given this organizations history, but nonetheless it has to be a major disappointment for fans who supported the team.
