Breaking: McAvoy facing suspension for head shot on Anderson
The Bruins blueliner could be out of action for awhile. What's a fair punishment?

Late in the second period of last night’s Game 6 action between the Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets, Bruins defender Charlie McAvoy absolutely TRUCKED Jackets forward Josh Anderson with a blatant head shot.
The call? Two minute minor.

Good grief… that’s a two minute minor? Yet the crosscheck on Pavelski is a five minute major?
I’m not saying McAvoy is a dirty player or that he even targeted the head. Accidents happen, but let’s not pretend that this wasn’t a blatant head shot. Clearly another blown call from NHL refs. Surprise, surprise.
As you might imagine, NHL Player Safety has tabbed McAvoy for an in-person hearing:
As for McAvoy, he's resolute in his opinion that he's done nothing wrong.
Should make for an interesting conversation with Player Safety...
