BREAKING: Netminder Announced

As expected, the Detroit Red Wings (4-2-0) will give the nod to Petr Mrazek ahead of tonight’s matchup against the struggling Carolina Hurricanes (1-2-2). 

Mrazek is clearly the number one goaltending choice on this team, though his 2-2-0 record along with his 3.03 GAA and .912 SV% might not accurately represent his career numbers. Thankfully, the entire team has picked up its game in front of their netminders, as Jimmy Howard’s .50 GAA and .984 SV% in two victorious starts clearly demonstrate.

Both goalies seem to be giving their team a chance to win night in and night out, and head coach Jeff Blashill has the luxury of choice with two capable goaltenders. The hope is that both will provide the Red Wings with a consistency that has unfortunately not been present on a regular basis throughout the course of the last few years.
