Goaltenders in the National Hockey League are having considerable difficulty staying healthy this season.

The latest injury occurred Monday during practice for the Carolina Hurricanes, and while the details surrounding the incident have not yet been fully reported, we do know for a fact that Eddie Lack has been seriously injured, so serious in fact that he was immediately placed on injured reserve. 

The Carolina Hurricanes have now confirmed that the Lack suffered a concussion during practice, and furthermore that goaltender Michael Leighton has been called up on an emergency basis in order to replace the injured Lack.
