One National Hockey League goaltender completely lost his cool and it may end up costing him.

Scott Wheeler of Pension Plan Puppets has reported on an incident involving Maple Leafs goaltender Garret Sparks in which Sparks made some very clear and very graphic violent threats towards a seemingly random stranger on social media as well as comments that some may consider sexist in their nature. Responding to a man named Tyler online Sparks said the following:

"Tyler where do you live? I want to go to open hockey with you, drag you out to center ice and beat you into a f--king pulp until you can't run that b--chy little mouth of yours. God you sound like a 13 year old girl."

Maple Leafs management has been made aware of the comment from Sparks but is currently refusing to comment on the situation. It goes without saying that threats of this kind could land anyone in serious trouble, but as a professional athlete in the public spotlight Sparks has a great deal more to lose here than the average person. Sparks has yet to play for the Leafs this season spending all of his time with the American Hockey League's Marlies, and it seems extremely unlikely he will get called up now, at least not until the dust has settled on this incident.

No word yet on what disciplinary action may be taken if any, and no word on any potential legal ramifications for Sparks as of this moment.
