With centerman Ryan Johansen's new eight-year, $64 million deal, the Nashville Predators officially have no remaining restricted free agents to sign. General manager David Poile has been able to ink all of his key players and keep a little over $5 million in cap space, which is a great accomplishment.

Poile's success is no surprise, he who won the GM of the year award, last season. But it seems like he is not done impressing everyone: The Tennessean's Adam Vingan uncovered a very surprising fact about the Preds, which can lead us to believe they will be contending for the Stanley Cup over the next few seasons:

Poile will have a lot of margin of maneuver if he wants to improve his team or make significant changes. While many do not see that happening in the near future considering the recent successes of the organization, Nashville's GM will certainly arouse envy league-wide.

Nashville had a record of 41 wins, 29 losses and 12 overtime losses for 94 points last season. They amassed 96 points in 2015-16 and 104 in 2014-15.
