The market for free agent goaltenders got even slimmer today, as one of the last goalies on the market found a new team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed free-agent goaltender Jhonas Enroth to a one-year, $750,000 contract on Monday, the team announced.

The Leafs were in the market for a backup to newly acquired goalie Frederik Andersen, and Enroth is expected to fill that role nicely. It was announced nearly a month ago that the Leafs had interest in Enroth, but apparently it took this long for the team to finally make a move.

The 28-year-old put up stellar numbers while serving as Jonathan Quick's backup in Los Angeles. While he only appeared in 16 games for the club, he put up better numbers than Quick with a 2.17 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage.

The Stockholm, Sweden native was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round (46th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
