BREAKING: Player to have hearing

Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas will receive, to the pleasure of many hockey fans, some attention from the NHL Department of Player Safety for his high and late hit on Austin Czarnick last night.

Gudas however, did waive his right to the in-person hearing (initially offered), and is instead scheduled to a phone hearing on Monday. Although the in-person hearing was initially offered, that means that he may look at a minimum of a five-game suspension or more.

In the last three seasons, Radko Gudas caught the attention of the NHL Department of Player Safety five times, and managed to avoid a suspension earlier in this preseason for a hit he landed on New York Rangers rookie Jimmy Vesey.
