A game that might leave major consequences

As reported bye Hockey Feed last night, Jake Guentzel has been diagnosed with a concussion follow the huge hit he took from Buffalo Sabre Rasmus Ristolainen on Tuesday night.

The hit came in late and appeared to catch Guentzel completely by surprise, and those are always the worst kinds of hits. Guentzel tried to regain his feet after the hit but it was pretty obvious even for a casual observer that he had effectively been knocked out and was likely concussed as a result.

The department of player safety announced earlier today that Buffalo’s Rasmus Ristolainen will have a hearing tomorrow afternoon for interference on Pittsburgh’s Jake Guentzel.
