Breaking: Rookie first round draft pick out 4-6 weeks after injuring himself last night.

The Philadelphia Flyers have just lost one of their top young talents for multiple weeks.

General manager Ron Hextall promised last night that he would provide an update on rookie forward Travis Konecny today and he was true to his word, unfortunately the news was devastating for the Flyers.

Hextall confirmed via the Flyers official website that Konecny would miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury and while the Flyers have not provided details on the nature of the injury we learned last night that it is believed to be a sprain to both his ankle and knee.

Konecny suffered the injury when losing his balance sent him crashing awkwardly into the boards, you can see the replay of that incident below.
