It is a very rough time to be a member of the Chicago Blackhawks.

An official release from the Blackhawks organization has revealed that goaltender Corey Crawford has been placed on injured reserve following the appendectomy he underwent over the week-end.

With the team already losing one of their star players with a back injury to captain Jonathan Toews, the Blackhawks now enter a true test overt the next few days, and possibly weeks, without two of their core guys in the lineup.

Crawford's injured reserve is retroactive to December 3rd, the day of the procedure, but it's unlikely we will see him back in action before the new year,
