According to Nick Kypreos, Max Domi is expected to have a hand surgery following his fight against Garnett Hathaway. This surgery would keep him sidelined for an approximatively 6 weeks.

According to Arizona Sports: "The Coyotes placed the second-year forward on injured reserve Saturday morning with what they termed an upper-body injury and listed him as week-to-week with an emphasis on a longer recovery period. Domi left Thursday’s loss to Calgary late in the second period after fighting the Flames’ Garnet Hathaway. He left the ice with a cut under his left eye, leading to speculation he might have suffered a concussion, but Domi was spotted running through the hallway at Gila River Arena on Saturday night."

Currently second-to-last in the NHL, 2 points behind the Colorado Avalanche, Domi's loss could very well be the last nail in the coffin for the Coyotes. In a way, it's probably for the best. While being a tough year for the fans, it should secure a top5 pick at the next draft and... there's always next year.
