Nashville Predators forward Colton Sissons was facing a one-game suspension after crosschecking Olli Maatta in the face at the end of the third period on Thursday.

By looking at the NHL rules book, “a match penalty involves the suspension of a player for the balance of the game and the offender shall be ordered to the dressing room immediately. In addition to the match penalty, the player shall be automatically suspended from further competition until the Commissioner has ruled on the issue.”

It appears it is Sissons' lucky day.

Having completed its automatic review of an incident in Game 5, D.O.P.S. has decided that Colton Sissons will not be suspended for Game 6.” Tweeted the DOPS.
