Breaking: The worst is confirmed for Leafs' Kapanen in shocking twist!

When Toronto Maple Leafs forward Kasperi Kapanen was ruled out for Monday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the word was that he was missing the game due to an illness. 

However, things took a turn for the worst on Wednesday, as the Maple Leafs announced that Kapanen is in fact out with a concussion. 

The move to remove Kapanen from the lineup for the game against the Bolts came somewhat as a surprise as the 22-year-old participated in the Leafs' morning skate on Monday.

There are no details on how or when the young forward might have suffered the head injury. 

Kapanen, who is in his fourth NHL season, has recorded 42 points (19G, 23 A) in 68 games.
