The Los Angeles Kings confirmed today that goaltender Jonathan Quick will be out of the lineup indefinitely, with no timetable for his return as he recovers from knee surgery.

Quick injured his knee in just the fourth game of the season and was placed on the injury reserve shortly after. The 32 year old net minder played 64 games last season and was an integral part of the team’s return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If he misses as much time as he did in 2016-17, when he played just 17 games, the Kings could be in major jeopardy of missing the post season yet again. They currently sit dead last in the NHL standings.

The LA Kings have announced that Jonathan Quick is out indefinitely following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.
Earlier this season, Quick was forced to go on injured reserve and missed five games due to a lower-body injury.
"Injuries do happen and not sure there's anything in particular you can point to in this situation," Head Coach John Stevens said to LA Kings Insider after practice on Oct. 30.
"I think he's done a good job of really staying on top of everything, his preventative maintenance, his daily routines, so these things happen sometimes and you have to deal with them."
The LA Kings have called up Peter Budaj from the Ontario Reign to back up Jack Campbell as the Kings continue their seven-game home stand.
Campbell has gone 3-4-0 with a 2.72 goals against average and .912 save percentage in Quick's absence.
