Breaking: Two of Boston's biggest stars have had surgery.

It appears that two of the Boston Bruins' most important players have gone under the knife in the offseason.

According to Boston Bruins insider Joe Haggerty, the team confirmed that both star forward Patrice Bergeron, as well as star goaltender Tuukka Rask, had offseason surgeries this week. 

For Bergeron the surgery was to repair a sports hernia injury, and he is expected to make a full recovery in time for training camp. great news for the Bruins considering how much he brings to the table.

Rask finds himself in a similar scenario after undergoing surgery to his groin, believed to be on the right side. Like Bergeron Rask is also expected to be ready to go when training camp gets underway for next season.

Both are big injuries for the Bruins, but if there was a time for either man to go under the knife, a long summer after a short playoff run is the time to do it.
