The second NHL Draft day might be boring for head coached across the league, but it wasn’t for Vancouver Canucks’ Bruce Boudreau.
During the day, Boudreau was sitting with the The NHL Network’s panel for an interview on Friday, his favourite wrestlers Kevin Owens from the WWE crashed the segment to come and meet the head coach. The bench boss had such a genuine reaction to meeting with Owens, who admitted he was enjoying the draft from one of the suites at the Bell Center.
This is heartwarming stuff right here, Boudreau looked like a groupie. And we're loving it!
Boudreau kept asking Owens questions about the draft, which also takes place in the WWE to decide if wrestlers will headline RAW or Smackdown. The hosts didn't know how to stop them from chatting away as Boudreau couldn't stop picking Owens' brain.
After the segment, the two men were caught staying on the sideline together, talking away with Boudreau still excited about the surprise encounter.
It is no secret that Boudreau is a huge wrestling fan and it made sense when he wanted to bring a “player of the game” award to the Vancouver Canucks, he created a Canucks Championship Belt. The belt reads “Vancouver Canucks: the reigning and defending gamenight champ.”
This will be a memorable day for Boudreau!
