The National Hockey League has been forced to suspend its season and many of us have been forced to suspend our daily lives as a result of the ongoing situation around the globe, and it is for that reason that it is extremely important that we all do our part to help put an end to this crisis as quickly as possible. Over the past several days we have seen countless examples of people ignoring the social distancing guidelines and now prominent figures around the world are lending their voices to help spread the message that we all need to figuratively come together to tackle this crisis.

Among the many voices that have been speaking out has been none other than Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, a man who knows a great deal about leadership as one of the National Hockey League's longest tenured captains. Chara took to social media recently and published a picture of himself and his young boys doing their best to put a quick stop to this situation, and it came with a very powerful message to fans and first responders alike. Like all of us Chara is no doubt very anxious to get back to some semblance of normalcy, especially given that Chara is currently in the twilight of his NHL career, but first and foremost he took the time to thanks those risking their lives.

Here is Chara's message, unedited and in full:

As a family we are doing our part in preventing the spread of this virus thanks to the masks made by @miriam_studienkova.

We all are looking forward to get back to playing hockey soon as it is safe.
My hope is to see our great Bruins fans soon to cheer our team on at TD garden when health restrictions are lifted.
I miss my teammates and more importantly the great people and fans of Boston.
Most importantly I want to personally thank all the first responders and healthcare workers who are the true heroes of our community.
Hope you all remain healthy and safe

As always nothing but class from the big Bruins captain, and we would like to extend that thought and we hope you all remain healthy and stay safe out there.
