The Calgary Flames has signed forward Matthew Philipps to an entry-level contract, the team announced earlier this week! The 19-year old forward, drafted 166th overall by Calgary in 2016, is currently playing in his third season with the Victoria Royals (WHL).

The 5'6", 141 pounds forward has 28 goals and 31 assists for 59 total points in 40 games played so far this season. In 201 games played in the WHL so far, he registered 236 points (regular season and playoffs included).

What a great way to start the new year for him!
