Canucks make money off Drew Doughty’s back!

Last month, earlier in the season, Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty was clearly in a bad mood during his trip to Western Canada. 

After Doughty scored the OT winner against the Flames and silenced the Calgary crowd as he went on to shout obscenities at them, he continued his rampage in Vancouver when facing the Canucks. 

After losing 8-2 to the Vancouver Canucks, Doughty took a candid shot at the team, not giving much credit to the club…

“It’s (expletive) just embarrassing. A team like that should not be beating a team like ours 8-2, there’s absolutely no way.”

That line has prompted the Canucks to make a brilliant new team shirt with ‘Team Like That’ as their motivation line. They are selling it to their fans and so clearly making money off Doughty’s back! 

This is great. Not only did the Canucks beat the Kings that night - and have been on a roll since - but they are also getting great payback on Doughty’s insult. 

Win-win.
