Although the Boston Bruins have several veterans on their lineup, they can count on young prospects to build a stronger future.

Charlie McAvoy could develop into a franchise defender. The 19-year-old defenseman made his National Hockey League debut in a surprise playoff call-up last year, and managed to impress. McAvoy showed he belongs in the NHL by leading on the blue line’s first pair, delivering big hits and supporting his team with his offensive ability.

He registered three assists in six games, and Bruins fans are expecting lots for the upcoming season. McAvoy might even win the Calder trophy!

Forward Anders Bjork signed an entry-level-contract with the Bruins this summer, although he most likely play in Providence at the start of the campaign. He could be an injury call-up this season as he continues his development.

Young defenseman Jakub Zboril is a few years away from making an impact in the major leagues, but it will be interesting to see the experience he acquires in the meantime.

As for left-winger Jake DeBrusk, he is on the right track to get a spot on the middle six forwards in 2018-19.

Great players, who are worth the wait!
