He needs a solution fast.

Last night, Torey Krug was hurt to a knee and left the arena in crutches and a brace on the leg. His exact status is still unknown, but things don't look so bright for the next few days at least.

Losing Krug is a devastating turn of events for the Bruins. It was a roller coaster type of year but through power of will and intensity, they finally broke through the rankings and into the post-season. Krug was a centerpiece of this effort, for notably on the offensive side of things. A valid replacement is needed for the time he will be off the ice.

Tonight, coach Bruce Cassidy is doing some good old fashioned scouting in the AHL.

Charlie McAvoy is the only decent option remaining for the team. The first rounder is still cutting his teeth in the AHL but he shows a lot of promising qualities already. It seems like he might go from the College level to the NHL in Playoffs mode in a span of a month. Talk about a thrill!

We will keep you posted about this, as usual.
