There is some very serious talk suggesting that the trade between the Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes and the Nashville Predators, that was made earlier in the day may have been orchestrated to solve a major headache for the Nation Hockey League.

Several sources are chiming in on this, but none has been more vocal that TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie who flat out stated that he believes this was designed to cut John Scott out of the All-Star game, despite the fact that fans voted him in.

"His inclusion in this trade, in my mind, was absolutely orchestrated to solve the All-Star issue for the league," said McKenzie.

McKenzie has hardly been the only one to speak out on this matter, another well respected insider, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times was highly critical of the move, stating that Scott had handled the entire situation with class and was burned in the end for doing so.

UPDATE: Renaud Lavoie seems to confirm all of this, he has reported the Habs have no intention of playing John Scott this season.
