Not much of a surprise but some welcome news.

One of the top priorities for Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving this offseason will undoubtedly be to acquire a quality and perhaps most importantly consistent goaltender.

On Monday Treliving revealed that regardless of what the solution to his problem would be, it would not be coming from within, telling reporters that the Flames would not attempt to re-sign veteran goalie Jonas Hiller, who had an abysmal season with the Flames this season. Hiller had career worsts in save percentage(0.879) and goals against average(3.51) over the course of 26 games this season.

While the departure of Hiller will likely be welcomed by most Flames' fans due to his incredibly poor performance this season, the remains a big hole to fill between the posts for Calgary, and acquiring a goaltender will be no small task for Treliving.
