Flyers' captain takes full responsibility for team's offensive woes.

A good captain puts the team on his shoulders, through the good times and the bad.

And that's exactly what Claude Giroux is doing in these rough times.

Since the team's impressive 10-game winning streak, the Philadelphia Flyers' offense has stalled in a bad way. 

In their last ten games Philadelphia has scored just 13 goals, and have consequently fallen out of a playoff position in the Eastern Conference. Giroux himself is mired in a scoring slump, having scored only two goals over his last 20 games.

As the leader of this team, he is taking the blame for the team's impotent attack.

"The bottom line is, the team's got to be better. I've got to be better," Giroux told Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer. "Personally I have to be better. I've got to play up to my standards and, right now, it's not the case. It's frustrating. You want to give everything you can to help the team, and that's not the case right now.

"I know I have to be better to help the team. I take responsibility."

The Flyers will need to find a way to find the back of the net and quickly. They will host the first-place San Jose Sharks on Saturday before embarking on a three-game road trip through Western Canada.
