It sounds that much like Brandom Gormley signed with the New Jersey Devils yesterday, another former first round pick who has proven to be a bust is on the verged on signing with a new team.

According to a report from 1130 News Sports, former 6th overall pick in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Drafty, Sam Gagner is very close to signing with a new team, although what team that is has not been made clear at this time.

We did get confirmation from 1130 News on some rumors surrounding Gagner however, according to their report the Vancouver Canucks remain one of the primary candidates, and as a discount option he likely could add some minimal value.

Gagner is coming off a tough season with the Flyers' one that saw him spend some time in the American Hockey League, and at this stage of his career it's hard to see a turn around in his future.
