Former first round pick reportedly demoted to the Sens third line.

The Ottawa Senators, and perhaps more specifically head coach Guy Boucher, appear to be losing faith or losing patience with one of their star forwards.

After failing to score a goal in 7 consecutive games, and with just 11 total goals thus far this season, former second overall pick Bobby Ryan has been demoted to the teams third line.

Ryan is Ottawa's highest paid player, so this may just be Boucher's way of sending a message to the locker room. During a recent press conference he admonished his entire team for failing to shoot the puck enough but named Ryan specifically during that exchange.

It's clear the Senators expect Ryan to produce more than he has at this stage of the season.
