Former Obama speechwriter REGRETS Penguins kind words.

Sometimes your job sucks!

Barrack Obama was recognized as a magnificent speaker, but a lot of his success is due to the speechwriters he had in his team. Writing speeches is not an easy task to begin with, but sometimes you need to put words on subjects you distaste profoundly.

This is exactly what happened to Stephen Krupin. A fervent Capitals fan, he rooted for his team during the 2016 Playoffs. However, to his great dismay, the Penguins prevailed and ultimately won the Cup. As it's customary for winning sport teams, the Penguins were invited to the White House for a formal meeting with the president. Guess who had to write a speech for his nemesis? Krupin did. He told the Washington Post :

''As with any good speech, the process began with research. I clenched my jaw and read recaps of the Penguins’ remarkable turnaround season. I grew nauseous as I dug through fawning profiles about enemies of the state such as Matt Murray and accomplices such as Phil Kessel. I steeled myself for a conversation with Pittsburgh’s villainous front office, from whom I learned begrudgingly about the commendable deeds this contemptible team performed in the community, such as restoring city parks and making their facilities more energy efficient.''

Of course, he says these things for the laughs, but you still can feel his pain. Seeing your favorite team getting kicked out of the Playoffs is tough already, but congratulating the enemy is no fun. He concluded the interview with this hilarious quote.

''There isn’t a Zamboni in the world that could make me feel clean again."

We feel you Stephen.
