The Florida Panthers are still looking for a new head coach after they demoted Tom Rowe, who took over after they fired Gerard Gallant earlier this season. They reportedly met with a few candidates in the past weeks, such as former Montreal Canadiens' head coach Michel Therrien and Todd Reirden, who works for the Washington Capitals.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman mentioned in his latest edition of 30 Thoughts that Ottawa Senators' associate coach Marc Crawford has a legitimate shot at becoming Florida Panthers' next instructor:

"Curious to see how Ottawa’s ride effects Marc Crawford’s future. He strikes me as a sneakily strong contender for Florida. Long history with Dale Tallon. The Panthers are working to stabilize themselves after a hard 2016-17, but one candidate said what happened last year made him a little unsure. That wouldn’t bother Crawford. He’s seen everything, and craves another shot."

Crawford has been behind the bench of the Quebec Nordiques, the Vancouver Canucks, the Los Angeles Kings and the Dallas Stars. He has a record of 549-421-100-77 as a head coach.
