It's only a few days since the National Hockey League trade deadline but one NHL general manager still has trades on the brain.

Speaking with ESPN hockey insider Pierre LeBrun Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli revealed that trading one of his former first overall picks is still a priority topic for him. Chiarelli told LeBrun that not moving Ryan Nugent-Hopkins , presumably prior to the deadline, was "difficult" however he left open the possibility that Nugent-Hopkins could be dealt during the offseason.

There have been rumors that the Oilers would like to deal him from defenseman Travis Hamonic, but the Islanders current position in the post-season may have played a role in them deciding to hang on to their talented young defenseman.

Chiarelli also told LeBrun that trading Nugent-Hopkins remained a very real possibility come this summer.
