New York Rangers veteran forward Tanner Glass has been the butt of jokes within the hockey social media community for a few years now. Rightly or wrongly, he’s become the poster boy for the slow, unskilled, untalented journeyman hockey player archetype and has been ridiculed by analysts who point to his dreadful advanced statistics and analytics. Well, it turns out Tanner Glass doesn’t think to highly of those people, either.

Glass had a memorable night last night in the Rangers’ 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators in game 4 of their second round series. The 33 year-old Regina, Saskatchewan native had two assists and a fighting major in just over 10 minutes of ice time. Afterwards, he addressed his so called haters with a pointed message.

Take that, stats nerds! Give credit where credit’s due. Regardless of whether or not you feel like Glass is a net positive or negative in the Rangers’ lineup, you can’t argue with his four points in five games this postseason. The veteran has spent most of the season riding the bus in the AHL and has fought his way back into an NHL lineup and is making huge contributions along the way. Respect to Tanner Glass.
