Reports have it that goaltender Jeff Glass has been recalled from the AHL as the Blackhawks emergency goalie.

Don’t panic! Neither Crawford or Darling are injured, the move is likely just a safety precaution.

The last thing Chicago wants is to have to scramble the way Pittsburgh did before their first playoff game on Wednesday, when starter Matt Murray went down injured in warmups.

Glass was signed to a two-year contract with the Blackhawks in February 2017, and has been playing with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL since clearing waivers earlier this season. In 20 starts with the IceHogs, Glass has posted a 2.63 GGA and a .914 save-percentage.

The 31 year-old netminder from Calgary, Alberta has had four years of AHL experience, eight years in the KHL and he was part of the Canadian Spengler Cup winning team in the 2015-16. Should the worst happen, he's no green rookie who will have the shake between shots.

The Blackhawks will play their first Stanley Cup Playoff game tonight, Thursday April 13th, against the Nashville Predators. Chicago has yet to confirm which goalie is starting, but it is expected that Crawford will get the nod.

Crawford played 55 games this season, securing 31 wins and a .918 save-percentage and a 2.55 GAA. Darling started the other 32 games, posting a 2.38 GAA and .924 save-percentage good for 18 wins.
