It’s official: the picks are in!

The past 72 hours have been a whirlwind for Vegas Golden Knights general manager George McPhee. He and his staff have spent the past three days pouring over protection lists, consulting with pro scouts, taking calls from teams and negotiating with free agents. The free agent and trade exclusivity window that the team received as part of their expansion rights was incredibly valuable, but also incredibly short. But now, the heavy work is done…all that’s left to do now is wait.

That’s right. The picks are in. The trades are done. The free agents are signed. All we can do now is wait for the official announcements at tonight’s NHL Awards in Las Vegas. However, rumors and speculation will continue to swirl, with some confirmed reports specifically with regards to selections from Anaheim, Pittsburgh and Minnesota.
