We reported earlier tonight that Montreal Canadiens' fans were starting to get worried about Shea Weber and his "minor" lower-body injury.
He's been playing much less ever since he came back from his injury, and that gave Jakub Jerabek a great opportunity to show Claude Julien what he's capable of.
The 26-year-old defenseman told The Athletic's Marc-Antoine Godin he was happy to finally be part of the team's top-6 defensemen, now that Brandon Davidson's gone and that Victor Mete was loaned to Team Canada Junior.
"It is a great opportunity for me... I need to work hard every day, and show that I deserve to be here. I really try hard to deserve another contract for next season... My girlfriend and I love the city more and more every day... The only thing I dislike is the traffic!"
Jerabek only played seven games with the Canadiens, and was unable to record a point.
