Knights will give one of their players a chance for revenge against the Bruins tonight.

A chance for revenge.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are making a change to their line up this evening and I do not believe for a second that this is a mere coincidence.

According to a report from Golden Knights reporter David Schoen of RJ Sports, Las Vegas Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant has confirmed that the Knights will be making a swap in goal this evening by putting backup goaltender Malcolm Subban in goal. Now there are certainly multiple factors behind this decision from Gallant but I am firmly convinced that one of those factors is a desire from Gallant to give Subban the chance to exercise some of the demons that have haunted his career in the National Hockey League this far.

You see Malcolm Subban is a former Boston Bruins first round draft selection (24th overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft and it would be fair to say that the pick was a complete and total bust for the Bruins. Subban never developed into the goaltender that the Boston Bruins had envisioned when they picked him and in fact he would go on to appear in a total of just 2 games for the Bruins organization at the NHL level. In spite of his rather solid performances as a member of the Bruins' American Hockey League affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, Subban's performances when he was called upon at the NHL level were nothing short of catastrophic.

His first game with the Bruins saw him post a 5.81 goals against average and a laughable .500 save percentage and things only got slightly better in his second game when he recorded a 5.88 goals against average and a .813 save percentage. That would be the last time that Subban would ever suit up for the Bruins, he finished out the season in the American Hockey League before eventually being acquired by the Las Vegas Golden Knights, a team that has given him significantly more looks at the NHL level.

Now to be fair, the Golden Knights are on the back end of a back to back and starting goaltender Marc Andre Fleury had a shaky performance against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, so these are likely the main factors in the decision today from Gallant. That being said he could have started Subban last night, but the veteran coach knows exactly what he's doing.
