Yikes… not a good look for the Caps’ star.

In case you missed it, a video released earlier today seemed to show Washington Capitals star Evgeny Kuznetsov talking on his phone next to what appears to be lines of cocaine.

The original video has been deleted, but several mirrors have popped up online. Check it out:

Well… that’s definitely cocaine. And that’s definitely Kuznetsov. What we don’t see however is Kuznetsov actually taking the drug, which of course is a banned substance under the NHL and NHLPA’s collective bargaining agreement. So, while it may be a bad look for Kuzy, it doesn’t necessarily incriminate him in any way.

Regardless, Kuznetsov has decided to respond to the allegations and made a statement earlier today regarding the leaked video.

Check it out:

And here’s a translated version of Kuznetsov’s statement:

Yes, I saw this video appear on the network. I do not always have something to do with what is happening next to me. I have never used drugs and I am not going to get involved in this. If I have questions, I am ready to undergo a medical examination at any time.
This video year. It was the summer of 2018 in Vegas, when we won the Stanley Cup (with the “Washington” ). By the past World Cup is all the more irrelevant. I just went to my friends in the room. When I saw what was happening there – unfamiliar women, strange substances on the table – he called a friend and left there as soon as possible.
It is a pity that someone decided to catch the HYIP just now – at the defeat of the national team. I have nothing to hide, let it remain on the conscience of the one who posted this video.

No statement has been issued by the Capitals or the NHL just yet.
