He was traded to the Maple Leafs in June of 2015 in exchange for Brad Ross and a fourth-round pick. The Slovak has spent much more of his time in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies. He's appeared in 13 games for the Maple Leafs this season.

Marincin joins Morgan Rielly and Justin Holl as the only Toronto defencemen under contract for next season. There are, if course, prospects Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren, as well.Travis Dermott will become a restricted free agent at the end of this season, while Jake Muzzin, Tyson Barrie (UFA) and Cody Ceci will all become unrestricted free agents.
