Leafs signing Lehtonen named KHL’s top defenseman

This just in, the the KHL has named defenseman Mikko Lehtonen as the league's top defenseman for the shortened 2019-20 season.

The 26 year old Finnish blueliner put up an outstanding 17 goals and 49 points in just 60 games with Jokerit Helsinki this season. He signed a one year, entry level contract worth $925,000 with the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this month. Leafs management and Leafs fans are hoping that the late bloomer can be an impact player on their blue line in 2020-21.
