The Vancouver Canucks will name their team captain in front of their fans Wednesday night in the season opener against the Edmonton Oilers, head coach Travis Green said on Tuesday.
To make the announcement even more impactful, the Canucks tweeted the coach’s quote on a picture of five former captains, omitting two former players we often linked to the captaincy in Vancouver: Mark Messier and Roberto Luongo.
And you know Lou was not going to miss an opportunity to make fans laugh on social media.
The former Canucks goalie, who recently retired as a member of the Florida Panthers, posted a photoshopped picture, adding himself to the Canucks’ image.
He even added the caption: Look what I found when I zoomed out a little.
This is just the perfect way to troll your former team. And fans - even Canucks ones - are loving it!
