Malkin receives surprising suspension for cross-checking Borowiecki
Wow! Did NOT expect that!

NHL Player Safety has suspended Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin four games for cross checking Nashville Predators defenseman Mark Borowiecki.
This is the second suspension in Malkin's career, with his last one coming just a couple years ago when he high sticked Philadelphia Flyers forward Michael Raffl. Malkin earned himself a one game suspension for that offence.
To be frank, I'm a little shocked by this suspension. While I could envision the league handing Malkin a one or maybe even two game suspension, I didn't think for a minute that he'd receive so much as a four game suspension.
