They have no other choice.

On Thursday, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas met with the media to provide an update regarding injured players Cody Ceci, Frederik Andersen and Morgan Rielly.

When he explained that Ceci was going to be out a while with an ankle injury, we expected that another roster would take place on Friday, seeing that the Leafs are facing the Anaheim Ducks later tonight.

That’s why the Leafs have recalled Timothy Liljegren from the Marlies. The team is also expected to place Ceci on injured reserve as he is set to be reevaluated in one month, per TSN’s Kristen Shilton.

Fans might actually be thrilled to get Liljegren back in the lineup as Ceci has had a disappointing season since getting moved to Toronto by the Ottawa Senators.

Liljegren played just one game with the Leafs this season, in which he failed to record a point and recorded a -1 differential.

We will find out later today if he gets to be in the lineup for the game.

As for Andersen, he was back on the ice for practice on Friday morning, but nothing shows that he will get the start against the Ducks tonight.
