Three months after the opening of the free agent market, Jaromir Jagr finally signed a contract in the National Hockey League, with the Calgary Flames. Nobody expected it would take him that long to find a new team!

Many Habs fans hoped general manager Marc Bergevin would sign him: he would have made a great duo with fellow Czech Tomas Plekanec. It obviously didn't happen, and Bergevin explained why, in an interview with former NHL referee Ron Fournier.

Bergevin admitted that he went for Ales Hemsky instead because he wanted to add more speed to his lineup. Jagr being 45 years old, choosing Hemsky over him was pretty easy, even though Jagr has produced more over the past few seasons.

Do you agree with his decision?
