The Los Angeles came out on top on Thursday night scoring the game winning goal early in overtime to win the game 5-4 and take a 3-2 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers.

But that’s not the only bad new the Oilers were handed following the heartbreaking loss.

On Wednesday, the NHL Safety Department announced that Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse is having a hearing today for Head-butting Los Angeles’ Phillip Danault.

The incident took place with seconds to go in the second period. As the Kings were pressing on the power-play, forward Phil Danault was staying put in front of the Oilers net. Following a shot by a teammate, Danault didn’t get the rebound, but was instead met by a pretty brutal headbutt from Nurse.

There was no call on the play, but as just announced, Nurse will get a call today from Player Safety.

Let’s see if Nurse might have played his last playoff game this season…
