This just in courtesy of online gossip tabloid TMZ, former NHLer Matthew Barnaby has been arrested for allegedly choking a bouncer during a braw at a Nashville, TN bar.

Check it out:

Police responded to a call from the Nashville Crossroads bar in downtown Nashville about about an altercation between patrons. Once officers arrived on scene witnesses told them that the 46-year-old Barnaby, his girlfriend and other bar-goers had gotten into a fight, when Matthew began choking a bouncer.

According to TMZ, there was "a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage" on Barnaby's breath when police spoke with him. The dispute was resolved and the bouncer elected to press charges against Barnaby, leading to the former NHLers arrest.

Barnaby was booked and charged with assault and public intoxication. He has a court date to face the charges set for later this month.

Of course, Barnaby is no stranger to the rough stuff. He racked up over 2500 penalty minutes in 834 career NHL games. Unfortunately, he's also no stranger to drunken arrests. Barnaby was dropped from his analyst job with ESPN after his arrest for drunk driving in 2011.
